High-speed train body self-cleaning coating
Train bodies pick up iron dust, oil film and rain grime at speed; after coating, dirt does not stick and wash cycles stretch out.
The problem
At speed the car body attracts iron dust, exhaust oil film, dust and rain grime; wash intervals are very short and the labour and equipment cost is high. The large, complex body is slow to clean and frequent washing wears the paint.

What we did
- Surveyed paint type and soiling; drew up a dedicated plan
- Local sample spray to verify anti-fouling, anti-static and self-cleaning targets
- Cleaned the body with soft neutral water and specialist detergent — no dust, no oil film
- Precision spray with controlled film thickness — no runs, no misses
- Ambient cure 4–6 h, then acceptance test
Results and value
The body is now super-hydrophilic and anti-static: iron dust and oil film do not bond, and rain or a simple rinse restores a clean finish. Wash intervals lengthen, O&M cost falls, the paint is protected and the fleet looks better.
